The star striker of PSG and Argentina Lionel Messi was awarded France Football’s 2021 Ballon d’Or award for the footballer of the year—and for the seventh time.
Messi had won the Ballon d’Or in 2019, too.
In 2020, however, this award ceremony was not held due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Bayern Munich's Polish striker Robert Lewandowski, who won the award for the forward of the year, as well as Chelsea and Italy midfielder Jorginho, were also in the top three.
