Roma manager Paulo Fonseca spoke—at the pre-match press conference—about their upcoming first leg in the Europa League semifinals against Manchester United, the former club of Roma footballer Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
Fonseca was also asked whether the presence of Roma’s former Man United players, Armenian midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan and English defender Chris Smalling, would help them in this confrontation.
"Of course. I talked to Smalling and Mkhitaryan, as they have played here [in Manchester] and have experience in such competitions," the Roma head coach responded in particular.
Thursday’s Manchester United vs. Roma clash in Manchester will kick off at 11pm Armenia time.
Henrikh Mkhitaryan had played for Man United for 18 months (2016-2018) and won three titles.
