First Armenian freestyle wrestler to compete in Olympics dies

The first Armenian freestyle wrestler to compete in the Olympics—in 1968—, USSR champion Nazar Albaryan has passed away at the age of 77, reported the press service of the Wrestling Federation of Armenia.
Albaryan was one of the founders of freestyle wrestling in Armenia.

The wake of this renowned athlete will take place Wednesday in his native village of Parpi, in Aragatsotn Province, and the funeral—on Thursday.
