Khandsuren Oyunbileg, a 54-year-old footballer, played for Sumida-Gepro in a Mongolian National Premier League match.
In their game against Ulaanbaatar, he entered the pitch as a substitute in the 86th minute.
Before that, Oyunbileg had not played since 1996.
Thus, he surpassed the record set by Japan’s Yokohama striker Kazuyoshi Miura, who plays professional football still at the age of 53.
