In the 25th round of the resumed Danish Superliga, Hobro IK beat Randers FC 1-0 in their away match, and Edgar Babayan, midfielder of the Armenian national team, scored the winning goal in the 36th minute with a penalty kick.
In a conversation with NEWS.am Sport, the 24-year-old football player told about the first official match after the break, and his winning goal.
"We are very happy to have won again, 260 days later. Finally, we managed to break the series of matches without a victory and earn 3 points. The whole team believed in this success; we must continue in the same spirit.
I'm in good shape. Because of the coronavirus pandemic, we only stopped training for a week, and then we resumed trainings in small groups.
My goal is to help the club. I am very happy that I was able to score the winning goal.
It was unusual to play without spectators, as we have gotten used to the support of the fans. We have a lot of important matches ahead of us,” Babayan said.
Edgar Babayan has scored 2 goals and provided 6 assists in 23 appearances so far in the current season of the Danish Superliga.
