Mkoyan: Doctor has forbidden training for next 2 weeks

By Vera Martirosyan

Armenia national football squad and Esteghlal F.C. defender Hrayr Mkoyan spoke to NEWS.am Sport about the injury he sustained in the Iranian league.

I injured the muscle section of my knee; fortunately, there is no meniscus problem. The doctor said that two weeks are initially required to recover. I started walking as normal today. I am categorically prohibited from training for the next two weeks.

I will undergo an examination again in the coming days, whereupon it will become clear as to when I will be able to train [again]. At present, I go to physiotherapy sessions twice a day,” Mkoyan specifically said in our interview.

Aside from Hrayr Mkoyan, Borussia Dortmund (Germany) midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan and FC Spartak Moscow (Russia) forward Yura Movsisyan also will be out of action—and likewise due to injuries—in Armenia’s Euro 2016 qualification-round group match against Serbia, which will be played on October 11 in capital city Yerevan. In addition, it is still uncertain whether Olympiacos F.C. (Greece) midfielder Gevorg Ghazaryan will be able to enter the pitch for Armenia in this game.
