Armenia national football squad and Borussia Dortmund (BVB; Germany) midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan spoke on Armenia’s defeat in their match against the host nation, Denmark, in their starter in the group stage of the Euro 2016 qualification round.
“I will say that I’m unhappy with the result. We lost by a score of 1-2, but we could have played a draw, or [even] won; this is football.
“The game opened more after my goal, and both teams had [scoring] opportunities; but it turned out that Denmark scored two goals,” the European Football Associations (UEFA) official website quoted Mkhitaryan as saying.
In Sunday’s Denmark-Armenia match that was played at Parken Stadium in Copenhagen, the Armenia international opened scoring in the second half, but, subsequently, the Danes responded with two goals and won the match.
