Record births were registered in Sochi, Russia, on the opening day of the 2014 Winter Olympics, which the city is hosting.
A total of 34 babies were born in the “Olympic capital city” on Friday, which is a record within the past ten years, Interfax news agency reports.
“[A total of] 24 boys and 10 girls were born in Sochi on the opening day of the Games; this is a record result in the last ten years,” stated head physician Olga Turenko of the Perinatal Center of Sochi.
