Sarkisov: I have no serious injury

By Vera Martirosyan

Following Alexander Tarkhanov’s appointment as new manager at FC Ural Yekaterinburg (Russia), the club decided to put up for transfer Armenia internationals and Ural forwards Edgar Manucharyan and Arthur Sarkisov.

NEWS.am Sport spoke with Sarkisov about the aforementioned development, and below is an abridged version of the interview.

Was Ural’s decision to sell your transfer a surprise for you?

I didn’t know about it. But, of course, I was told that news before posting it on the official website. But it was unexpected.

The coaching staff say that the sale is associated with your injury. What would you say about this?

I don’t know at all what injury they are talking about. Yes, I had an injury and, as a result, I missed out just two games. [But] I have no serious injury.

Do you have offers from other teams? In which league do you see yourself?

Without a doubt in Russia. I have several offers, but I can’t reveal names now.

What do you think about the fact that virtually half of the Armenia national squad are now playing in Kazakhstan?

They had invited me to Kazakhstan half a year ago, but I turned it down because I want to play in Russia, where the league is very strong.

When will the name of your new team be known?

Hopefully soon. The teams have already gone to the training camps; I need to join them soon and continue my work.
