London Olympics 2012: Former Ukrainian-Armenian champion is unsuccessful this time

Beijing Olympics champion shooter Artur Ayvazyan, who represents Ukraine, performed unsuccessfully in London 2012. 

The Armenian athlete was unable to pass the qualification round in the Men’s 50m rifle prone, and he was left out of the final competition.

Nazaryan, 39, came in 19 from among 37 competitors, and solely the top eight qualified for the final. 

Artur Ayvazyan, who is native of Armenia’s capital city Yerevan, still will perform in Men’s 10m air rifle and Men’s 50m rifle 3 positions.

As Sport informed earlier, shooter Norayr Bakhtamyan, who represents Armenia, failed to qualify for the final of Men’s 110m Air Pistol. And with a total score of 579 points, the Armenian athlete came in 16 out of the 44 participants.

To note, 25 athletes are representing Armenia at the 2012 London Olympics, which officially kicked off on July 27 and they will come to a close on August 12.
