Due to the goal scored in the last round of the German championship, Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski increased the number of goals to 41 and surpassed the record of the former Bayern Munich striker, German Gerd Müller, in the number of goals scored in one Bundesliga season.
Gerd Müller scored 40 goals in the German championship in 1971–1972.
