Armenia’s Pyunik FC to focus on own players

Armenia’s Pyunik club has been a champion for many years, yielding only to Ulisses FC last year. The team has new players, while the chief coach would be Suren Chakhalyan. NEWS.am-Sport correspondent interviewed Chakhalyan on the club’s future plans.

Mr. Chakhalyan, are you satisfied with the results of your players? Did you manage to realize what you have planned?

Currently all we planned, is realized. The team had everything to hold trainings properly. Players are working with great enthusiasm, and it is, of course, nice. Most important is that we do not have serious injuries and all the players are in a good shape.

What about the control matches?

It may be summed up as we check what we have trained during the control matches. It is necessary to understand what the players can do better instead of what they are lacking.

Last year Pyunik performed with younger players, while again young players are being engaged in the team this year. In your opinion, can the team solve problems with such a staff?

Pyunik has always struggled for the champion’s title, while the current team has all, which is required for it.

As Armenian Premier League is extremely different from that of European, what players are going to participate in the championship and will there be foreign players?

No, we will include only our local players. The club will not invite foreign players.
