YEREVAN. – “I will get married and not train for one year,” Armenia’s London 2012 bronze medal-winning weightlifter Hripsime Khurshudyan said during a press conference on Friday.
“I’m very happy. I came down from the [weightlifting] stage and I was so overjoyed that, instead of my traditional dance, I jumped on my coach from joy. I was not discouraged even by the fact that they disallowed my second lift.
I will get married this year and not train for one year. I will devote myself to my family. But I definitely will return to sports after a year, so I can always make my nation happy.
I had a very warm welcome at Kasakh [village]. My fellow villagers offered a festive [animal] sacrifice [for me],” said Hripsime Khurshudyan.
