Chess news on Armenian players

YEREVAN. – Armenian Grandmaster (GM) Hovhannes Gabuzyan has scored 5.5 points after seven rounds and is leading, together with GM Yuri Vovk (Ukraine), the chess open that is held in Padova, Italy, Armchess reported.

Separately, GMs Tigran L. Petrosian, Arman Pashikian, Samvel Ter-Sahakyan, Levon Babujian and Hovik Hayrapetyan, WGMs Maria Kursova and Lilit Galojan, and International Master (IM) Manuel Petrosyan have achieved wins in the first round of the open that has kicked off in Al Ain, UAE.

Also, GM Sergey Grigoriants garnered 15 points, out of 22 points, in the European Blitz Championship that was held in Wrocław, Poland. WGM Lilit Mkrtchian and IM Tigran S. Petrosyan, on the other hand, tallied 13.5 and 13 points, respectively, at the tournament.
