Grandmaster (GM) Levon Aronian faced GM Maxime Vachier-Lagrave (France) in Thursday’s Round 8 at the Sinquefield Cup chess tournament which is held in Saint Louis, USA. In the end, Aronian—who is second in the World Chess Federation (FIDE) rankings and who plays first board for the three-time World Chess Olympiad champions and the former World Team Chess champions Armenia—played a draw with the French GM in the 30th move. Levon Aronian and Maxime Vachier-Lagrave have tallied 3 points, apiece, so far. GM Fabiano Caruana (Italy) continues to lead the event.
