By Vera Martirosyan from Copenhagen

COPENHAGEN. – Arfter learning the results of the 2014 World Cup draw Denmark manager Morten Olsen said that one should beware the Armenian national team, as Armenians are dark horse. Today, we are disappointed at Armenia’s results, one of the Danish journalists said.

In Denmark, not everyone knows about Armenia. One young man said that he had learned about Armenia thanks to football and successful game during the last qualifying round.

Interest in the Denmark vs. Armenia match in Copenhagen is not too high. We can say that there is no interest at all. Only true fans will come to the stadium. First of all the Armenian national is not interesting for Danish football fans, and, secondly, the fans are unhappy with the result of their team. However, during the matches against Norway and the Czech Republic, as well as the local team Copenhagen, the stadium was full capacity.

Denmark, which originally was considered one of the favorites of Group B, is currently ranked the fourth place. Olsen set a task for his team to get victory over Armenia and Malta, as well as a draw with Italy. Although Denmark has chances to qualify, however, interest in the national team is not too high.

Denmark fans are considered the most peace-loving fans in the world. The day before the match 12 thousand out of 40 thousand tickets have been sold. It is expected that the game will be attended by some 15,000 spectators.

Local Armenian community and the Armenian Embassy in Denmark are actively trying to organize and coordinate the presence of Armenian fans at the match. According to preliminary data, the match will be attended by around 200 Armenian fans. About 20 of them living in the north of the country hired a bus to come to Copenhagen.

Prior to the match against Malta, interest in Denmark vs. Armenia qualifier was much higher. After the defeat in Yerevan match, much has changed, but those fans who will attend the match, are full of optimism. It was nice to see that Armenians from the UK come to Copenhagen to support their team. There are also fans from Sweden and Northern Europe.

At the pre-match press conference, manager Vardan Minasyan said that the team had forgotten about the previous failures and thinks only about the upcoming match.

Another four days ago, Denmark vs. Armenia was important. The Armenian team had chances, now it just needs to play well and try to win.

Copenhagen is a city with a good aura. Everything here is like a fairy tale. Maybe tomorrow would be a fairy tale for the Armenian team...
