24-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic was awarded the 2024 Laureus World Sports Awards as the sportsman of the year.
The Serbian tennis star had won this award in 2012, 2015, 2016, and 2019 also.
Three-time Formula One champion and Red Bull driver Max Verstappen, Manchester City striker Erling Haaland, pole vault world record holder Armand Duplantis, Inter Miami striker Lionel Messi, and 200m sprint world record holder Noah Lyles were also in the running for this year's Laureus World Sports Awards.
Last year, Lionel Messi had won the Laureus World Sports Awards.
