Istanbul-2012: Armenia becomes triple Olympic champion

Armenia’s national chess team becomes triple Olympic champion in Istanbul Chess Olympiad-2012 after calculating all additional points.

In the last game Armenian team defeated Hungary’s national with a score of 2.5:1.5. Sergey Movsisyan won Zoltan Almasi, while Vladimir Hakobyan, Gabriel Sargsyan and  Levon Aronyan ended their plays with Judit Polgar, Ferenc Berkes and Peter Leko in a draw.

Thus, two top teams - Armenia’s and Russia’s nationals - both had 19 points after the last round. Russia’s national earlier won German team with 3:1 score.

Ukraine national won the third place after defeating Chinese team.
