Чемпион и обладатель Кубка Германии «Байер» стартовал с победы в розыгрыше Кубка Германии. 

В 1/32 финала «Байер» победил «Карл Цейсс» с минимальным счетом.

Единственный гол на 53-й минуте забил немецкий форвард Йонас Хофман (видео).

«Байер» вышел в 1/16 финала.
