Messi receives the Creu de Sant Jordi

Messi was awarded the Creu de Sant Jordi on Thursday in a ceremony held at the Auditori del Fòrum, with president Quim Torra doing the honors, Barcelona FC reported. 

Messi is also now just the third Club athlete to receive the Creu de Sant Jordi, after Juan Antonio San Epifanio, Epi, in 1996 and Johan Cruyff in 2006.

During the current season, Messi scored 48 goals and made 22 assists in 48 appearances.
