Serena Williams scores first victory after injury

Tennis player Serena Williams, 23-time winner of the Grand Slam tournaments, scored her first victory at the tournament in Rome after winning Swedish tennis player Rebecca Peterson in 1 hour and 14 minutes.

In the second round, Serena Williams’ opponent may be her elder sister, Venus Williams. If the latter wins Belgian tennis player Elise Mertens, she will play with Serena, who is participating in a tournament for the first time after her knee injury in March.
