Athlete representing Azerbaijan disqualified from Olympic medal

Azerbaijan’s representative, Bulgarian weightlifter and 2012 Olympic bronze medalist Valentin Kristov has been disqualified for doping, reports the press service of the International Olympic Committee. 

He performed in the 56 kg weight category at the 2012 London Olympic Games.

The bronze medal will be granted to Vietnamese weightlifter Le Quoc Toan Tran.

The decision can be appealed to the IOC Disciplinary Commission and the Court of Arbitration for Sport
