European Cup, Ballon d’Or creator Jacques Ferran dies aged 99

French journalist Jacques Ferran passed away aged 99, AS reported. 

Jacques Ferran is one of the founders of the European Champions Cup (the current Champions League) and Ballon d’Or.

For many years he was the editor-in-chief of the authoritative French edition of L’Équipe.
