Russia professional footballers still remanded in custody

The Moscow City Court has denied the motion by the attorneys of Zenit Saint Petersburg forward Aleksandr Kokorin and Krasnodar midfielder Pavel Mamaev, and ruled that they continue to be remanded in custody, Russian News Agency TASS reported.

Kokorin and Mamaev were charged with hooliganism and instigating a brawl.

They will continue to be held in custody until December 8.

On October 8, these footballers had beaten the driver of a Russian TV hostess in Moscow, causing him severe head injuries.

Subsequently, Aleksandr Kokorin and Pavel Mamaev had assaulted a representative of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, at a café.
