Barça have most expensive bench ever

The Barcelona bench at the start of their Spanish La Liga new season opener against Deportivo Alavés comprised footballers for whom the Catalan club had paid close to €300 million to acquire.

In this game, Barça substitutes included seven players whose total transfer value was €294 million, according to Marca newspaper of Spain.

This was Barcelona’s most expensive bench ever, as the previous record was €131 million.
