Ice hockey to be taken out of Olympics?
12:38 12 August, 2018The International Olympic Committee (IOC) plans to review the format for men’s ice hockey in the next Winter Olympics, which the Chinese capital city of Beijing will host in 2022.
René Fasel, President of the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF), informed the aforementioned, and said there were four respective options:
1. Going with the (National Hockey League) NHL players, as it was between 1998 and 2014.
2. Using the same player pool as until 1998 and in 2018.
3. Using U23 players, just like in Olympic football.
4. No hockey at all.
