London Olympics 2012: Armenia’s Artur Aleksanyan advances to quarterfinal
16:50 7 August, 2012Silver medalist of 2011 European championship Armenia’s Artur Aleksanyan started Olympic tournament with a victory over Italy’s Daigoro Timoncini.
Aleksanyan is representing Armenia in the 96 kilogram category. He will face Gholamreza Rezaei in the quarter-final.
Aleksanyan got involved in wrestling in 2000. He is a bronze medalist of the junior tournament of the Black Sea region (2007), winner (2010) and bronze medalist (2009) of Youth World Championships, a silver (2010) and bronze (2009), medalist of the Youth European Championships, silver medalist of European Championship (2011), European Champion (in 2012).
