The Saudi Arabian Football Federation has suspended referee Fahad Al-Mirdasi for a match-fixing attempt. Al-Mirdasi, 32, was due to referee the King’s Cup final. According to the statement issued by the Saudi Arabian Football Federation, however, the referee had written a message to the head of one of the teams and offered to ensure the needed result in return for certain payment.

He is now at the police station, reported AS. Even though Fahad Al-Mirdasi was selected to officiate at the 2018 World Cup in Russia, the corresponding letter has already been sent to FIFA.
