Bonucci on Real Madrid penalty: Thank God, I wasn’t there

Former Juventus defender Leonardo Bonucci commented on Champions League quarter-finals, Football Italia reported.

“It was a week full of emotions, I’m very happy for Roma and very sorry for Juventus. To score three goals at the Bernabeu doesn’t happy every day.

Juventus proved they’re up to that level, then these incidents can happen.

I thought ‘thank goodness I wasn’t there’ when that penalty was whistled, because maybe I wouldn’t have been able to curb my instincts,” he said.

As reported earlier, English referee Michael Oliver awarded Real Madrid a penalty, while Juventus goalkeeper Buffon rushed toward Oliver immediately after the call and quickly got a red card. Juventus were dumped out of the Champions League after Real Madrid beat Juventus (agg: 4-3) in the Champions League quarter-final.
