Kirsan Ilyumzhinov not going to resign

FIDE president Kirsan Ilyumzhinov has no intention to leave his post despite the calls of the FIDE presidential council.

Ilyumzhinov said the decision of the presidential council is a political move and has to do nothing with chess. He added that he is not going to resident and will run for the post of FIDE president again in September, Interfax reported.

Ilyumzhinov has been in office since 1995.
