Candidates Tournament: Armenia’s Aronian is at the bottom of standings

Armenia’s top chess player, Grandmaster (GM) Levon Aronian finished the Candidates Tournament at the bottom of the standings. During the last round, Aronian drew with GM Wesley So (USA). As a result, Aronian has solely 4.5 points.

During the last 13 rounds, Aronian recorded one win, suffered six defeats, had six draws.

The winner of the Candidates Tournament will be the challenger for the 2018 World Chess Championship against the reining champion, GM Magnus Carlsen (Norway), from November 9 to 28 in London.
