Mourinho : Messi cannot get Ballon d’Or without winning Champions League and Spanish championships

Jose Mourinho said Messi cannot get the 2012 Fifa Ballon d’Or award as he did not win the Champions League and Spanish championship.

He considers the possible candidate is Cristiano Ronaldo, who scored 46 goals and notched 12 assists, ESPN reports.

Mourinho said Ballon d’Or award should not go to a player only for his individual skills, he must help his team to win big tournaments.

“So I don’t think Messi without winning the Champions League, without winning the Spanish League, how can he be the Ballon D’Or?” ESPN quotes the coach.
