According to the source, the Portuguese specialist intends to part with defenders Luke Shaw, Chris Smalling, Phil Jones, Daley Blind, Matteo Darmian, midfielders Ander Herrera and Juan Mata.
Marouane Fellaini and Zlatan Ibrahimovic will leave as a free agent in the summer.
Mourinho's transfer list includes Real Madrid winger Gareth Bale, Tottenham's defenders Toby Alderweireld and Danny Rose, Chelsea midfielder Willian and FC Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Fred.
