London Olympics 2012: Russia’s Olympic gold medalist judoka to receive $1 million

Russian judoist Mansur Isaev, who achieved a gold medal in the 2012 London Olympics, will receive a US$ 1 million bonus, the Governor of Russia’s Chelyabinsk Oblast (Region) stated.    

“The sponsors pledged to pay one million dollar to the Chelyabinsk Oblast representatives who win a gold medal in the London Olympics,” dni.ru quotes Chelyabinsk’s Governor as saying.

Russian Olympic judo team’s Armenian member, Arsen Galstyan (60 kg), was the first to win gold for the Russian delegation in London 2012. And Mansur Isaev (73 kg) became Russia’s second gold medal winner.    

To note, 25 athletes are representing Armenia at the 2012 London Olympics, which officially kicked off on July 27 and they will come to a close on August 12.
