Australian Open: Maria Sharapova is out

Former world No. 1 Maria Sharapova (Russia) has bid farewell to the Australian Open in Melbourne.

In Saturday’s round of 32, Sharapova was defeated in two sets by another former world No. 1, Angelique Kerber (Germany), and eliminated from the rest of this tournament.

The match lasted 1 hour and 4 minutes.
