By scoring a goal against Real Sociedad in Sunday’s La Liga clash, FC Barcelona forward Lionel Messi has netted his 366th goal for Barça in the top flight of the Spanish professional football league.
As a result, the 30-year-old Argentine star broke legendary German forward Gerd Müller’s long-standing record for the most league goals scored for the same club in Europe’s top five divisions (England, Spain, Germany, Italy, and France).
Müller had scored 365 goals for Bayern Munich in the German Bundesliga.
