By scoring a goal against Villarreal CF in Sunday’s Spanish La Liga match, FC Barcelona’s star forward Lionel Messi has netted his 525th goal for the Catalan football giants.
As a result, captain of the Argentine national squad equaled Gerd Müller as the top scorer in Europe’s major league with one club. The legendary German forward had netted 525 goals for FC Bayern Munich (Germany).
And Barça have set a record after their win against Villarreal. They have gone 21 games without a defeat in the La Liga, the longest current run of any team in the competition, wrote OptaJose.
The last time when Barcelona were beaten in the La Liga was in their 2016/17 season match against Málaga C.F.
