FIDE Grand Prix: Aronian leads the standings

Armenia’s Levon Aronian agreed to a draw with China’s Dean Liren in the fifth round of the FIDE Grand Prix held in Majorca.

Aronian is leading the standings with 3.5 points. During the previous rounds, he defeated Anish Giri (The Netherlands) and Ernesto Inarkiev (Russia). The two other games against Maxime Vachier-Lagrave (France) and Dmitry Yakovenko (Russia) ended in a draw.

Hikaru Nakamura (USA), Maxime Vachier-Lagrave (France), Anish Giri (the Netherlands), Peter Svidler (Russia), Dean Liren (China), Boris Gelfand (Israel), Li Chao (China), Teimour Radjabov (Azerbaijan), Pentala Harikrishna (India), Pavel Eljanov (Ukraine), Francisco Vallejo Pons (Spain), Evgeny Tomashevsky (Russia), Richard Rapport (Hungary), Alexander Riazantsev (Russia) and Jon Ludvig Hammer (Norway).
