FIDE: Armenia’s Aronian maintains second place in world standings

The World Chess Federation (FIDE) has issued its rankings for November 2017.

Accordingly, Grandmaster (GM) Levon Aronian, who plays first board for the three-time World Chess Olympiad champions and the former World Team Chess champions Armenia, has maintained his second place in these standings.

The reigning World Champion, GM Magnus Carlsen (Norway), continues to top this list.

Armenia has three more GMs in the FIDE top 100 rankings; they are Sergei Movsesian (76th), Vladimir Akopian (77th), and Gabriel Sargissian (97th).
