Ballon d'Or winner George Weah elected president of Liberia

The 1995 Ballon d'Or winner George Weah has been elected president of Liberia, Naji reported.

It is ex-player’s second attempt to run for presidency, this time he defeated his main rival Joseph Boakai who was service as vice president of the country.

George Weah used to play for Monaco, PSG, Milan, Manchester United, Chelsea and Marseille. FIFA named him the best African player of the 20th century.
