YEREVAN. – The Armenian women’s national team will not compete in the International Weightlifting Federation (IWF) World Championships, which will be held in November in Anaheim, USA.
National team coach Artashes Nersisyan told NEWS.am Sport that this is because they currently do not have a medal contender weightlifter for this tournament.

He added, however, that the young female weightlifters are training for the European youth Weightlifting Championships.

To note, it is still uncertain whether the Armenian men’s weightlifting team will participate in this year’s world championships.
