World Chess Cup: Wesley So draws with Ding Liren

Match between grandmasters Wesley So (US) and Ding Liren (China) ends in a draw.

Earlier it was reported that Grandmaster (GM) Levon Aronian (Armenia) on Tuesday faced GM Maxime Vachier-Lagrave (France) in the first classic chess match in the semifinals of the 2017 FIDE World Chess Cup being held in Tbilisi, the capital city of Georgia.

And the two GMs agreed to a draw in the 32nd move.

The second classic match between them will be played on Wednesday.

Aside from advancing to the final of the 2017 FIDE World Chess Cup, the finalists will also be eligible to compete in the Candidates Tournament, which will be held in the German capital city of Berlin in March 2018, to determine the challenger for the World Chess Championship.
