World Chess Cup: Armenia’s Aronian in semi-finals

Armenia’s Levon Aronian has reached the semi-finals of the 2017 World Chess Cup taking place in Tbilisi, Georgia.

Aronian defeated Ukraine’s Vassily Ivanchuk 1.5-0.5 and will face the winner of Svidler vs. Lagrave pair.

The winner and finalist of the tournament will be qualified to the 2018 candidates' tournament.
