FIDE World Chess Cup: Aronian in third round after beating Hou Yifan

Grandmaster (GM) Levon Aronian reached the third round of FIDE World Chess Cup being held in Tbilisi.

Aronian was playing against the four-time women’s world champion, GM Hou Yifan (China) and managed to win the tie-break of two blitz games (2-0).

The World Chess Cup finalists will be eligible to compete in the Candidates Tournament to determine the challenger for the World Chess Championship.
