World Chess Cup: Hrant Melkumyan and Robert Hovhannisyan fail to reach 2 round

Representatives of Armenia Hrant Melkumyan and Robert Hovhannisyan failed to reach the second round of the 2017 World Chess Cup, taking place in Tbilisi, Georgia.

Boris Grachov (Russia) beat Hrant Melkumyan 0.5 -1.5 and Maxim Rothstein (Israel) defeated Robert Hovhannisyan 0.5 -1.5.

Armenian grandmaster Levon Aronian won the round 1 game against Daniel Cawdery 2-0 and reached the second round.
