Armenia youth football squad manager: We can play well

09:33   31 August, 2017

At the pre-match press conference, manager Artur Voskanyan of the Armenia youth national football team reflected on their UEFA European Under-21 Championship qualifier Thursday against Russia, in Moscow.

He noted that Russia are a strong opponent, but Armenia will work to play well against them.

He added, however, that two key players, Petros Avetisyan and Erik Vardanyan, are absent from the Armenian national squad due to injuries. Voskanyan said they were powerful on the line of attack.
But he noted that the team’s motivation has grown even more after their win against Gibraltar.

The squad manager said they have a good team and good players who know each other well, since they are primarily from two clubs: FC Pyunik and FC Banants of Armenia’s capital city of Yerevan.
Artur Voskanyan added that they can play well, and that this was shown by their two friendlies, informed the Football Federation of Armenia website.
