David Beckham, Muhammad Ali to be on hand at London 2012 opening ceremony

LONDON. – England national football team’s former captain David Beckham and boxing legend Muhammad Ali will attend the opening ceremony of the 2012 London Olympics, which will kick off on Friday.

“It is some kind of role in the opening ceremony which I am honored to be involved in because obviously I was involved in the start process with this seven years ago. I’ll be going back and forward, but I’ll definitely be trying to get to a few events,” The Guardian quotes Beckham as saying.

According to British media, 27 million pounds are spent for the opening ceremony of the Summer Games.  

The 2012 London Olympics will come to a close on August 12.
