Armenian National Olympic Committee Chairman issues message to country’s Olympians

YEREVAN. – Armenian National Olympic Committee (ANOC) Chairman Gagik Tsarukyan addressed a message to Armenia’s 25 athletes who will represent the country in the 2012 London Olympics, which will kick off on Friday.    

“Honorable Olympians, trainers, specialists: I hope you will manifest a strong will, an aspiration to win, and you will stand out with good results.    

Dear athletes: Your performances will be carefully followed in Armenia and the [Armenian] Diaspora. I want to believe that you will hold high the honor of Armenia’s Coat of Arms, Anthem, and Flag. You need to be guided by great Olympic ideas, principles of fair play, [and] stand out with exemplary conduct and demeanor.      

You have promised on numerous occasions that you will properly perform in this main global athletic competition. I call upon you to carry out your mission with dignity, [and to] turn your promises into actions.      

Millions of Armenians are awaiting your triumphs with hope and belief. Meet the expectations! I wish you success and victory,” Armenian National Olympic Committee Chairman’s message reads in particular, ANOC press service informs.
