13th World Chess Champion Garry Kasparov on Tuesday stated that he is not going to resume his professional career and will not take part in other tournaments after the one underway in St. Louis.

“This week I will take part with pleasure in the advancement of chess in the most pleasant manner for me—at the chess board. I am happy that my appearance in the rapid and blitz tournaments in St. Louis didn’t go unnoticed. But I don’t plan to play again after this tournament,” Kasparov wrote on his Facebook page.

In the fourth round underway in St Louis, Kasparov will on Tuesday face the Armenian chess leader Levon Aronian.
