Champions League: Armenia’s Alashkert surmount first “obstacle”

Armenian Premier League football 2016/17 season champions FC Alashkert of capital city Yerevan on Tuesday played an away match against Andorra’s Primera Divisió champions FC Santa Coloma, in Game 2 of their first UEFA Champions League qualifying round clash.

The match ended in a 1-1 tie.

In Game 1 that took place in Yerevan, the Armenian club had won by a score of 1-0, and therefore they have surmounted their first “obstacle” in the qualifiers.

In their second qualifying round, Alashkert will face FC BATE Borisov (Belarus).
